One of THOSE days...and a wonderful cluster from Janet to share

/rant   Back from Madison after a goofy day of scans....CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis w/wo contrast..then a head MRI w/wo contrast.  All was fine until the receptionist didn't complete checking me in for the MRI which was immediately after the CT stuff.  I sat there and sat there....finally asked her if MRI was behind, she said no, but would find out what was up.  FIFTEEN minutes later (she was on the phone with someone that whole time)  she manages to ask my name.  AGAIN.   Another 10 minutes go by.  Keep in mind my MRI was scheduled at 115 - my CT's ended at 110pm.    It is now about 150pm.    She stands up, calls my name and shouts to me that it turns out MRI is behind...but someone will come shortly.   As she says this, the MRI gal DOES show.   My pager didn't go off as usual, so I tell her that..and she says "its because you weren't checked in and we never paged the number.   We have been waiting for you to show up for 45 minutes!"  I told her I DID check in...got the pager.....and she says "we know you did, we called the CT gal who worked with you and she verified that she dropped you back at registration.    So - -it was the receptionist that screwed up.  I can deal with mistakes.  I CAN NOT and WILL NOT deal with liars.    and that woman lied to me, big time.     I confronted her on the way out...and she was still denying it, even with the MRI gal standing right there.   So -I got home and first thing I did was write to Patient Services.    Know what?  My life has been shortened by a LOT already...I do NOT need to waste that much time sitting around due to someone else's negligence.     She should be ashamed of herself.    endrant\

  1. You did exactly the right thing. How much easier for all concerned if that woman had just apologized! On top of being incompetent and lacking empathy, she turns out to be a LIAR! I'm getting mad just sitting here. Anyway, I LOVE this pretty freebie. Thank you!

  3. Another beauty, thank you. And good for you for standing up for yourself and not letting the receptionist get away with lying and trying to make you look bad. I have had some experiences like this recently too. People need to take responsibility for their mistakes and apologize. It makes a huge difference to someone who is already under stress.

  5. thank you for the lovely freebie as always ... AND ... YOU GO GIRL!!! incompetence and then lying on top of it to cover her you-know-what??? absolutely no reason for it. she should have admitted her mistake and apologized ... wouldn't have fixed it but it sure would have gone a long way in treating you like the valued person you are. happy to see you still haven't lost your SPUNK!

  6. So sorry for your experience. It is so annoying when people just don't own up to their mistakes and try cover it up. I love giving reviews because it tells them where they are doing things well, but also where they need to do things better. Thank you for the lovely freebie
